About Us
I've been a builder my entire life. From crafting custom Minecraft mods at age 12 to re-architecting my high school's website with Django and NGINX, my passion has always been using technology to create better solutions. For a time, I ran my own successful software development company, Vinix Inc., before shifting to the corporate world to provide a stable life for my family after my son, Cade, was born.
I understood then why my parents chose a similar path, but I felt the entrepreneurial fire dim. I got comfortable.
Then, the new era of AI arrived. Experimenting with tools like Gemini, I realized the power we now have to make a life-changing difference. It reignited my ambition to pursue my lifelong dream: building assistive technology. I decided it was time to stop waiting for an opportunity and create my own.
My brother has Alstrom syndrome, a rare condition that took his sight at a very young age. I’ve always wanted to help level the playing field for him. One morning, feeling motivated, I called him. "If I could build anything to make your life a little easier," I asked, "what would it be?"
His answer was a mix of a joke and a lifelong wish: "You know, it would be great if I could see again."
Fueled by the optimistic mindset I’ve always had, I responded, "You know, let me see what I can do."
I spent the next few days architecting a tool to turn the visual world into audio, much like the audio description tracks that narrate unspoken scenes in movies. The goal was to give him a new way to perceive his environment. When I showed him the first raw version, something magical happened.
I couldn't restore his sight—I can't perform miracles. But watching my brother smile as he took in the details of the room around him for the first time was the closest thing to magic I've ever experienced. His first joke using the app was to our mom: "Sorry, you have to clean up the messes now and can no longer hide things in plain sight."
He took that early prototype to an Alstrom medical conference, and it became the talk of the event. Since then, I've dedicated myself to refining Audio Descript, adding new features, and making it fully accessible. This is more than just an app; it's the start of a new journey with my brand, AI and Sons.
My mission is clear: to build a better future and solve real-world problems today. We are all aboard, and the pedal is to the floor.
